The Institute of Science and Technology for Brain-inspired Intelligence (ISTBI), Fudan University, Shanghai is seeking talented and motivated individuals to work as full time Post-doctoral Research Associates in a laboratory led by Prof. David Waxman (http://www.dwaxman.com/).

Prof. David Waxman
David Waxman carries out research in quantitative biology. From 1985 to 2011 he was at the University of Sussex (UK), first in the Department of Physics, and then in the Department of Biology. Since 2011 he has been working full time in Fudan University, Shanghai, initially under the Chinese Government Foreign Expert Program. He has published research papers in well-known journals including Nature, Science, PNAS, Physical Review, Physical Review Letters, Genetics and Evolution. He has served on the Editorial Board of the journals Science, American Naturalist, Journal of Theoretical Biology and Theoretical Population Biology. In his research he uses methods from physics, mathematics, probability and statistics, along with computational methods, to construct and analyse mathematical models of biological systems. Professor Waxman’s research typically concerns models involving randomness and stochasticity. He has wide interests, and most recently has been working on the stochastic dynamics of genes in biological populations.
