About GIFT at SJTU
Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU) was founded in Shanghai, China, in 1896. SJTU is a world top 100 university, and GIFT(Global institute of future technology) is one institute out of the 33 schools/departments and 12 affiliated hospitals. GIFT at SJTU aims to: establish a world-class faculty in the fields of energy, health, and extreme manufacturing; build a cutting-edge research and teaching platform; carry out the best international scientific research cooperation; and promote interdisciplinary education and research activities. The institute manages endowment funds from various sources, including a recent endowment fund of more than 200 million US dollars. GIFT's second building will be completed in 2024, which will add 50,000 m2 to the existing space of 25,000 m2. The institute expects to experience rapid growth in its faculty size in the near future. The official teaching and working language at GIFT is English.
