北京时间4月30日，美国科学院公布新入选的院士名单，共有100名美国本土科学家以及25名外籍科学家入选。

今年新当选的华人学者有中国疾控中心主任、国家自然基金委副主任高福、普林斯顿大学教授、结构生物学家颜宁、哈佛大学工程与应用科学学院锁志刚以及洛克菲勒大学教授、HHMI研究员陈觉（Jue Chen）。

值得一提的是，今年新当选的院士名单中，约40%是女性学者，创下了历年之最。

截止2018年，共有超过100名华人、华裔科学家当选为美国科学院院士以及外籍院士，其中包括李政道、杨振宁、丁肇中等华人诺贝尔奖得主，也包括丘成桐、陶哲轩两位华人菲尔兹奖得主，杂交水稻专家袁隆平也于2006年当选为美国科学院外籍院士。

第一位当选美国科学院外籍院士的华人科学家是“中国生理学之父”——林可胜，在1942年其当选为美国科学院外籍院士之后，1955年加入美国国籍，他在1956年又转为美国科学院院士。第一位当选美国科学院院士的华人科学家为“中国的居里夫人”——吴健雄，她于1958年当选为美国科学院院士。

新中国成立后，第一位当选为美国科学院外籍院士的大陆科学家为数学家华罗庚。2004年，当时只有41岁的王晓东当选为美国科学院院士，他也因此成为了新中国培养出来的第一位美国科学院院士，而第二位则要等到2009年，那一年，社会学家谢宇当选为美国科学院院士，成为了当选为美国科学院院士以及外籍院士中唯一一位华裔社会学家。此后又有24位在大陆接受教育的科学家，当选为美国科学院院士。

美国科学院简介

美国国家科学院成立于1863年，是一个非盈利、非政府组织。入选该院的院士是美国乃至世界学术界最高的荣誉之一。入选者不需要自行申请，而是基于其在原创研究中所做出的突出且持续的贡献，新院士由现任院士在每年四月举行的美国科学院年会上投票选出。每年将会有100名国籍为美国的新院士被选出，与此同时还有最多有25名的外籍院士被选出来。目前美国科学院院士总产生2347名院士，其中约有487名为外籍院士。截止2018年，他们中有190人曾获得过诺贝尔奖。
