The Institute of Network Computing and Information Systems (NC&IS) of the School of
Electronics Engineering and Computer Science at Peking University is seeking candidates for
faculty positions starting in September 2015 or March 2016. The appointment will be at the
assistant or associate professor level.
Areas of interests include, but not limited to:
- Big data analytics
- Wireless networking
- Mobile computing
- Data privacy and security
- Social computing
Candidates should hold a PhD in Computer Science/Engineering or a related field, and prior
interdisciplinary experience, e.g, with social sciences, is favored. To be a successful faculty at
Peking University, we expect candidates to demonstrate capability in independent research, as well as comfort in teaching.
The Computer Science program at Peking University is organized in “institutes”. NC&IS is one
of the six institutes, with 20 current faculty members.
Peking University’s new faculty recruits are observing a tenure track system, where most of the new junior faculties will be on a tenure track with a startup package that typically includes an annual salary of around RMB 200,000, some housing subsidies, and startup research funding.
