Philips Research China (PRCN) has been established in Shanghai since the year 2000. Our focus is on breakthrough innovation, aimed at generating new business for Philips, and to support existing business. Working with industrial and academic partners, we speed up innovation and help create technologies that really matter and get adopted. We call this Open Innovation. We are an integral part of Philips’ international research program and have extensive collaborations with the Philips labs across the world. PRCN currently has over 100 research scientists working in the fields of Healthcare, Lifestyle Applications, and Lighting.

Principal Accountabilities:
	Be responsible for Lighting Lamps and Luminaires architecture design
−	In project forming phase, serve as a technical owner and deliver Customer Requirement Spec and Functional Requirement Spec. 
−	In execution phase, define system key features, parameters; establish technical solutions and deploy them to each functions like optical, thermal, mechanical, manufacturing processing, electrical and so on
	Bring LED system expertise (interaction with optical, mechanical, thermal, manufacturing processing, electronics, test, and reliability) to a higher level in the team, by “training on the job”. 
	Key member of generation of lighting concept, translation concept into technical enablers, breakdown system realization into sub-functional tasks, steering system integration.
	Fast learn a variety of existing platform/solutions, scout for new technical trends of both lighting and external industries, and apply to lighting products.
	Propose technical roadmap, innovation themes and coach engineers in the various design disciplines.

Job Requirements:
	Has a broad and deep technical back-ground in the field of LED physics, optics, thermal, material properties, mechanics, electronics and has demonstrated a great drive for getting things done on-time. 
	Has >10years technical working experiences and >5 years in lighting industrial, produce design experience is preferred; Proved experiences of system that is relevant to ensure performance, quality and reliability of LED Lighting products.
	Good communications skills to bridge MKT early request with R&D team’s knowhow
	Good road-mapping planning and presentations skills
	Preferable to have the experiences to manage the projects which is from concept phase to industrialization phase. 
	Fluent in English both in written and Oral.
	Has the experience to work with the suppliers and manufactures on the project.
