PRIMARY FUNCTION:	
An exciting and rewarding position at the Corporate Research and Technology - China for Eaton Corporation, a Global, Diversified Industrial Company. Searching for an Engineering Specialist in Hydraulic Controls Systems & Solutions to initiate and lead innovation programs; identify market opportunities, evaluate and develop new technologies, develop business cases, acquire resources and internal/external funding, lead customer relationships, present ideas and projects to Eaton business leaders and external customers. A unique blend of broad technical knowledge and business acumen is required to be successful in this position. The successful candidate will be directly reporting to the Manager of Controls Systems & Solutions.

Primary functions for this position include: 
• Create innovative product concepts/prototypes based on breakthrough technologies for hydraulic & electrohydraulic applications, as a technical lead and as a team member.
• Identify, analyze, and validate advanced technologies in the areas of hydraulic component/system; diagnosis & prognosis; electro-hydraulic control; intelligent system; machine learning & advanced signal processing, and embedded systems
• Lead technology development projects and manage teams (local and remote resources) and external technology resources (Divisions and Universities)
• Lead and improve the process of mapping technology solutions to market opportunities.
• Coordinate & manage multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural globally distributed teams.Create innovative product concepts/prototypes based on breakthrough technologies for industrial, electrical, automotive, truck, and aerospace applications, as a technical lead and as a team member.
	
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (Limit yourself to 8-12 statements)
A. Identify, analyze, and validate core technologies in at least one of the following areas: hydraulic
component/system; diagnosis & prognosis; electro-hydraulic control; intelligent system; machine learning & advanced signal processing and embedded systems
B. Lead customer relationship with Eaton product and engineering divisions to successfully develop and transfer
technology.
C. Develop business cases, conduct voice-of-the-customer interviews, collect market data.
D. Coordinate and manage multi-cultural distributed teams on multi-disciplinary research and product development.
E. Identify, initiate and manage projects with universities and research institutes (both China and overseas).
F. Create project plans, manage budgets and resources, and deliver results on-budget and on schedule.
G. Present complex technical ideas and business cases to stakeholders and senior management on a regular basis.
H. Lead government contract proposal preparation and technical publications.
I. Provide input to department and innovation center technology strategy planning for future growth opportunities.
J. Maintain subject matter expertise on products, technologies, manufacturers, and businesses to support divisional and operational activities.
K. Respond to other tasks at request from management.
	
SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE:	
Education/Experience:
• PhD degree preferred, in Hydraulic/Mechanical/Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related field, from top universities, with 3-5 years experience.
• MS degree in related field with 8-10 years experience required, in similar innovation or R&D organizations from major MNCs.
• Overseas experience (e.g., degrees, exchange research program) highly preferred.

Technical: 
• Profound understanding of hydraulic components and systems with hands-on experiences ¨C required.
• Experience in at least two of the following areas: electro-hydraulic control, diagnosis & prognosis for hydraulic core components & systems, hydraulic powertrain for mobile/industrial platforms, energy efficient hydraulic solutions ¨C required.
• Demonstrated technical expertise in intelligent system, diagnosis & prognosis, machine learning & advanced signal processing and embedded systems ¨C preferred.
• Strong background in system modeling & optimization ¨C preferred.
• Knowledge of systems architecture design & analysis process ¨C required
• Strong technical publication and invention record ¨C highly preferred.

Professional:
• Proven track record in taking technologies from concepts to demonstrating product applications ¨C required.
• Program management experience ¨C required.
• Demonstrated tenacity and flexibility to reliably achieve goals ¨C required.
• Excellent English communication (oral and written) and presentation skills ¨C required.
• Team building and management experience and highly effective interpersonal skills ¨C highly preferred.
